Basically, it appears to be the same bike. The U.S. version has Harley look-alike mufflers, however, while the European version has more of a megaphone style. In the U.S., there's a striking white version available. But I agree that the horsepower is low and the weight high: that's a bad combination, in my view. I certainly wouldn't trade my Savage for one. Ah, but the new Trimph Bonneville I saw on the showroom floor, priced at $7,000 (US) and having about 22 horses more than the Honda while weighing less: that could tempt me to give up the thumper experience someday. For now, though, I'm quite happily tooling around on my Savage.
